Abstract

The pursuit of alternative energy sources (AES), such as solar and wind power, has intensified due to the growing demand for energy and accessibility by consumers. These sources are becoming increasingly competitive in terms of cost, driving the energy transition of electrical systems worldwide. However, the integration of AES into existing infrastructure poses significant challenges, requiring the development of techniques to ensure the reliability and quality of supplied energy. This study proposes a solution involving the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and analyzes the feasibility and effectiveness of integrating this technology along with Voltage-Oriented Control (VOC) on the AC side of a flotating photovoltaic (FPV) plant using Power Ramp Rate (PPR) to control the power to be compensated by the battery bank. The results obtained demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed algoritm in reducing the number of occurrences of ramps above the specified rate, highlighting a more stable and reliable operation of the system after the implementation of the proposed solution.
