Abstract

This article presents an approach for effectively controlling the output voltage of Boost converters operating in continuous conduction mode, addressing the challenges associated with the presence of a non-minimum phase zero (RHP) in their transfer function. The use of a frequency-domain controller designed by the K-factor method is proposed to compensate for this RHP and improve system stability. Theoretical and practical tests demonstrate that the proposed controller efficiently mitigates the effects of RHP, resulting in significant improvements in system performance in terms of stability and output voltage regulation. This work contributes to advancing the field of power converter control by offering an effective solution to the challenges faced in the continuous conduction mode of Boost converters.
