Controle-se: Um Jogo Educacional para o Ensino de Teoria de Controle

Teaching Control Theory presents challenges due to the complexity of the mathematical concepts and the difficulty of visualizing dynamic systems in practice. This paper proposes the educational game Controle-se, developed using the Design Thinking methodology, incorporating the principles of situated learning and unplugged computing to make learning more interactive and accessible. The game uses a board inspired by casino roulette wheels to contextualize theoretical concepts in a playful and dynamic environment, promoting situated learning. It also uses cards with graphs and formulas, 3D-printed betting chips and a handmade hourglass, allowing experimentation and logical reasoning without the need for electronic devices, in line with the principles of unplugged computing. During development, stages of empathy, ideation, prototyping and testing were carried out, resulting in innovative teaching material. Tests with Computer Engineering students showed that the proposed approach facilitates the assimilation of concepts, making the learning process more dynamic and motivating. Thus, Controle-se is presented as an effective alternative to complement the traditional teaching of the subject.
