Abstract

In this study, the thermal and magnetic behavior of a submerged electric motor was investigated using both analytical and numerical methods. The analytical approach, based on the desired nominal data, was employed to determine the design parameters necessary for defining the motor's geometry and windings. Subsequently, the numerical method utilized the analytically derived geometry to conduct thermal and magnetic simulations. The results were highly favorable: the motor successfully achieved the target mechanical power of 150 HP, and the difference in air gap induction between the two methods was less than 1\%. Additionally, the observed temperature levels indicated that the commonly used materials would not be compromised by thermal stress. These findings highlight the effectiveness of combining analytical and numerical tools in the design of submerged electric motors.
