Abstract

The Brazilian electric sector has been facing challenges related to the increasing integration of distributed energy resources, particularly distributed generation. In this context, the Distributor's Geographic Database (BDGD) has emerged as a key tool, not only for providing regulatory support to the supervisory body but also for offering detailed information on the assets of electrical networks. This article presents a study based on the distribution system of the State of Goiás-GO, illustrating how this tool enables a comprehensive analysis of distribution systems. Although there are opportunities to improve the quality of BDGD information, it is evident that it provides a broad understanding of the assets and operation of distribution companies. The studies conducted indicate that tools such as QGIS, Python, and PowerBI significantly facilitate the analysis of data extracted from BDGD, contributing to strategic decision-making in the planning and operation of distribution systems.
